The Strokes Finish Recording New Album
You aren’t reading that headline wrong, The Strokes have actually finished recording their new album. First Impressions of Earth, their last album, was released way back in January of 2006.
Since then, the members of the band have done all kinds of things from solo projects to the world of competitive baking. Well, maybe I made that last part about baking up, but the point is that the guys have been doing a lot and it almost seemed like a new album would never come.
Julian Casablancas broke the news on his twitter saying, “Still not going to be out for a few months-mixing, etc, but JUST finally finished it yesterday actually!?” In addition to that, Julian said in an interview months ago that the album is expected to be released on March 11, 2011.
Well, we can only hope because it looks like its on track to be released right around that time. Hopefully we’ll see an album title soon and maybe get a little preview of some new music from it. In the mean time, catch up on some of their songs from the last album and than wait patiently for the new album early next year.
