Them Crooked Vultures Plan New Album
Them Crooked Vultures are a supergroup composed of Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age‘s Josh Homme, and Led Zeppelin‘s John Paul Jones. I’m pretty sure you kiddies now all that because you guys and gals (Myself included) made their first album a critically-acclaimed hit!
As Dave Grohl heads back to work with the Foo Fighters, there was an uncertainty left behind on whether or not Them Crooked Vultures would return to make a new record. Recently, John Paul Jones gave us an update on the band’s future.
Fortunately for us, John Paul Jones did an interview with BBC 6 Music to let us know that the band will keep pushing on with new music!
“I’ll gatecrash one of their gigs, if Dave asks me…It won’t be the end of Them Crooked Vultures. We’ve already worked on some new stuff. We’re going to write pretty quickly and just put it down. We may be a year or so. It will mainly be excess material from the first album, material we started and never finished because we had to go and play the stuff we already recorded!”
Them Crooked Vultures released their debut self-titled album in November 2009. It became a smash hit and the band has been on the road touring ever since the album’s release.
The album sold over 70,000 copies in its first week of availability in the United States, giving it the number 12 spot on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
