Austin City Limits – Day 2 Recap

We are two thirds done with the 2010 Austin City Limits Festival…what happened on day 2? In a day that brought amazing weather and great music, the Austin City Limits Festival didn’t let anyone down.
Matt & Kim. This band started playing at house parties. Now they play to crowds of 65 to 70 thousand people. What do they think of all this “fortune and fame”?
Silversun Pickups played what they call their “last show.”
Did you miss it? No problem.
There were a ton of highlights from the ACL Music Festival today. With the beautiful weather this 46 acre park was packed. While the music is certainly the highlight of the festival, there were other attractions as well including a wide variety of food including being able to pick up fruits and vegetables at the Hope Farmers Market.
Football fans interested in checking out the games stopped by the Rock Island Hideaway to get a cold one and watch some football on the two big screens. But of course it’s the music that rules here and Austin City Limits certainly didn’t disappoint today.
Some of the crowd favorites today were Matt and Kim, Monsters of Folk , Gogol Bordello, Beats Antique and certainly M.I.A.
Deadmau5 was a highlight today with a lot of fans dancing in the park! Then there was a spontaneous dance party that erupted during the LCD Soundsystem show.
But the cap for the day was absolutely Muse. They were a huge crowd pleaser and put on an awesome performance complete with an incredible light show. They had the crowd singing along during their set and their encore, “Knights of Cedonia”, was a great cap for the day. And here’s more info from day two.
