Steve Jones Talks About The Return Of ‘Jonesy’s Jukebox’ With Kevin & Bean

Steve "Jonesy" Jones
Steve Jones makes his debut on KROQ this Sunday with the return of his popular show “Jonesy’s Jukebox“, and this morning he took some time to chat with Kevin and Bean. They discussed his return to radio after the demise of Indie 103.1, the short but influential existence of the Sex Pistols, and the state of music today.
**
It’s hard to believe that the Sex Pistols only released one album, but still stand as one of the most influential bands in rock. When asked if there was ever a possibility of a new album when the band reunited, Jones believes it would do more harm than good, saying the music the Sex Pistols would record today would be totally different from Nevermind The Bullocks. No one makes a big deal about a mohawk or dyed hair anymore, and Jonesy’s believes current bands emulate the punk spirit, but remarked that real punk music is not liked by a majority of people.
Jonesy’s Jukebox airs Sundays 7-9pm on KROQ, starting this Sunday!

I was listening to the K & B interview…and it just proves that KROQ also tuned into a greater station. Indie my not exist on radio but for ever stream, not the same. I’m elated to hear Jonesy’s Jukebox is back on air. I’ll tune in and listen to KROQ for a couple hours on Sunday.

There was a sense of urgency of what was happening in the world back then. At that time I was living in Utah with my family and all you heard on the radio was top 40 picked out by old geezers. I eventually moved to California to Marvelous Marin where all of the parents were into the hot tub set. I just had enough of it to embrace the feelings of the younger generation I was a part of. Thanks.
