KROQ Presents: Mike Vs First Annual Glory Bound Festival

Skating legend and lead vocalist of punk band Revolution Mother, Mike Vallely (aka Mike V) continues his tireless devotion to skate and punk presenting the first annual Glory Bound Festival.

A spinoff of the Glory Bound Skateboard Tour, Vallely has organized a day and night event that delivers the best of punk music and skateboarding right here in the heart of L.A. Culture and good vibes are certain to thrive as iconic skateboarders such as Z-boy Tony Alva, Mike Caballero and Mike V himself will display their vert skills before a serious music session featuring Pennywise with new lead singer Zoli Teglas.

KROQ Presents: Mike Vs First Annual Glory Bound Festival

The Glory Bound Festival will set up shop Saturday, November 13th at The Hollywood Palladium, featuring a slew of renowned punk rock acts and skateboarding legends.  The ”Ramp Jam” will include the aforementioned Alva, Caballero and Vallely; adding Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain and others to the pot as well.  There are few people who carry the talent, versatility, and drive as Vallely.  The iconic vert and street skater, actor, stuntman, musician, hockey player, professional badass and television personality has strived for the perfect blend of skateboarding and punk music.

I’ve always thought that a skate and music festival could be done better.“I’ve always thought that a skate and music festival could be done better than any of the events I’ve ever attended or participated in,” said Mike V. “Instead of the music or skating being secondary to the other, I think it’s important to give both arts their own time and respect. With the Glory Bound Festival I aim to get it right once and for all. By including the World’s most legendary skaters for a one hour jam and today’s top punk bands, this event is rooted deep in both culture and substance. The Glory Bound Festival isn’t about chasing the flavor of the month, but instead creating a forum for bands and skaters with real style, attitude and originality to shine.”

The Glory Bound Festival also highlights veteran punk rock band Pennywise, featuring new lead singer Zoli Teglas who replaced Jim Lindberg last year. The 22-year vets are hard at work on a new record and tour plans for the U.S. are expected.  Also scheduled to perform are Alkaline Trio, Authority Zero, Banished, and SoCal’s own Nations Afire.

Tickets are on sale now at Livenation.
