KROQ Epicenter Twenty-Ten: Black Pacific

I was really anxious to see what former member of Pennywise, Jim Lindberg’s new band was going to be like. I knew it had a somewhat similar sound to his old stuff, but other than The Black Pacific‘s song “Living With Ghosts”

I hadn’t heard any of their new material. The guys blessed Epicenter with being the first show of the newly formed band, and we were happy to help them pop their cherry.

The band was greeted by a huge ovation of punk rock fans, and circle pits ensued immediately once the music began. Their guitarist is really good, mixing punk riffs with some pretty decent shredding. Much like he’s done several times, Jim stood there and encouraged the crowd to get moving and get the pit going even crazier, all while holding tight to his Budweiser.

The best thing about this band is their crowd. There were some SMOKIN‘ hot chicks, young and old, who were definitely not afraid to strip down a bit and let their tatas hang out all over the place. The front row was lined with chicks, while all their dudes were moshing away in the circle pit. You guys keep moshing, I’ll keep your women entertained.

If you’re a fan of good ol’ fashioned fast-paced punk rock, then you definitely need to check these guys out. Don’t get me wrong, they for sure have a different sound than Pennywise, but it’s easy to hear the similarities while you’re listening.

Where was Davey Latter, their bass player? There was another guy playing the bass and Jim didn’t mention that one of their band members was MISSING. What gives?

Marc Orrell (ex Dropkick Murpheys) was on guitar and the bass player was ‘Gavin Cazz/Kazz’ or something? I’ve been racking my brain trying to remember the guys name but I don’t know who he is. Davey Latter had a schedule clash with his other band. Apparently it was a last minute thing.
