Scott Weiland may be the voice behind Stone Temple Pilots, but he is always going to be a jack-of-all-trades. This time he takes on the challenges of being an author, a minstrel, and even a fashionista – all of which he wants to accomplish simultaneously.

At first glance, switching from road gear to sewing machines seems drastic, but apparently Weiland has been wanting to be a clothing designer for years. After all, being a slave to the road can be so tedious… but more power to him. His line would include ‘rock-inspired’ vest, pants, t-shirts, scarves, ties, hats and caps. Fabulous.

As for the Christmas Album, it looks as though it will be a multifaceted twist on this classic yuletide tour. No tracks have been leaked, but Weiland let the critics know he will be using strings, upright bass, jazz horns, piano, and guitar.  He also hinted at is the possibility of a reggae-induced “Little Drummer Boy” cover.

On top of everything else, Weiland finally released the title of his much-anticipated autobiography, Not Dead & Not For Sale. The book has been in-production for years, with Weiland accepting help from David Ritz, a man who has helped Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles share their colorful pasts. We’re not quite sure how chapters from these artists’ life will compare to Weiland’s edition of drug-addled havoc.

The book is expected to be released next March, but we’ll give him some leeway. After all, how will he ever finish his book on-time when Santa’s suit needs to be taken in at the waist?

STP plays Nokia Theater L.A. Live Friday, October 29th. Tickets go on sale this Friday (9/17) at 10am via Ticketmaster.
