I agree with you completely, Marta.
It sucks that KROQ only lets young people enter this contest. I’ve loved STP since KROQ first played them in 1992. How many of your 18-29 year olds were listening then?
I really hope that they change that rule for entering contests.

Hey guys… Enough with this… Please understand… KROQ was built by catering to youth. For over thirty years, our focus has been on young men and women. If we lose sight of this important demographic then we’ll end up like KLOS, growing old with our audience, ceasing to be valid to Southern California’s youth. The survey is designed to test this particular group to make sure we’re on target. That’s it, plain and simple. Yes, I agree, it sucks if you’re older than the “core” demo cause you can’t enter this particular contest. But so what. There are a dozen other contests every week within the KROQ Street Team.
Let me make this perfectly clear… Of course we care about our audience younger than 18 and older than 29. Don’t be silly, we’d be idiots not to care. It’s just this one particular survey that’s narrowed to 18-29. If anyone older than 29 wants to enter this contest for STP tickets, email me and I’ll reply with the secret link. – lightning@kroq.com

I’m with Marta on this….WTF???!!!! Age limited to 29?? Seriously, thats total bullsh*t. I LOOOOOOVE STP!!!! And real, die-hard STP fans are older than that!!! Look at the freakin’ band members!!! LAAAAME!!!!

WTH? AGE LIMIT?? So I guess if you don’t want my vote you don’t need my support either? What would happen to KROQ if everyone under 18 or over 29 JUST STOPPED SUPPORTING the radio station??? Something to think about huh?
