Sure, it’s only September, but you may need to plan ahead for the Christmas season if you want to spend the holidays with X.  The legendary punk band has announced two House of Blues dates: December 15 at the House of Blues Sunset Strip and December 17 at the House of Blues Anaheim.

Exene Cervenka and the rest of the boys; John Doe, Billy Zoom, and D.J. BoneBrake, have been making punk rock in Los Angeles since 1977, and remain one of punk’s most enduring bands.  Their first album, Los Angeles, is my favorite X album, and definitely a must-own for any punk fan.

X’s music has appeared in countless movies and TV shows over the years; from “The Shield”, “X-Files”, and “Freaks and Geeks” to Boys Don’t Cry. X has appeared as themselves in The Decline of Western Civilization, Urgh! A Music War, and The Unheard Music .KROQ’s Rodney Bingenheimer has been a big supporter of X since the beginning, and they also appeared in his documentary Mayor of the Sunset Strip.

Tickets for X-mas with X will go on sale Friday, September 17 at 10am for both House of Blues shows:

  • December 15 at the HOB Sunset Strip ( $37.50)
  • December 17 at the HOB Anaheim ($32.50 in advance/$35.00 at door)

Here’s an old school video of X appearing on David Letterman:

“Los Angeles” and “Hungry Wolf” performed at OC Fair 2009:
