Video: Interpol’s Latest Single “Barricade”

Interpol‘s “Barricade,” one of the newest songs on KROQ’s playlist, has already been getting people’s attention, making it into last week’s Furious Five @ 9. But have you seen the official music video?
Interpol released the video for the single a couple of weeks ago and it’s pretty awesome. The video was directed by Moh Azima and was shot at the Floyd Bennett Airfield in Brooklyn. The band said they had to fight off mosquitoes all day but it was worth it in the end. The result is an impressive combination of still photography, live landscapes, Paul Banks singing in front of women’s stomachs, and a balloon drop.
If you like what you hear, pick up the band’s brand new self-titled album in stores now.

Kudos to Gillian and all the other phone-ops who are giving some heads up to the Kroq listeners about Interpol. I finally heard Interpol’s bloc play Saturday night with Slow Hands and Barricade. I haven’t stopped listening to their new album, it’s f*cking awesome.
