Last.fm Trends: The Stooges’ Most Popular Record
Jim Jarmusch has been talking about his long planned documentary about The Stooges at ATP New York, leading to fans of the band around the world to demand he get on with making it.
As Iggy Pop’s group continues an incredibly successful reformation, Last.fm Trends took a look at the band’s catalog to reveal which classic record is really their most popular.
The Stooges are one of the few bands that really can lays claim to ‘changing the face of music.’ After their break up in 1974, the band’s catalog remained on ice for decades, building a reputation as one of the most incendiary collections ever recorded.
The Stooges’ live return in 2003 proved all that, and in 2010 the group was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

While new release The Weirdness hasn’t really set listeners on fire, their legendary albums really have. Competition is tight too; 34% of their 7,022,977 come in for their self-titled debut, while 39% go for Raw Power, the epic record they’ve been celebrating in performances this year.
