Brandon Flowers Says The Killers Will Return In 2011

Fans of The Killers who were worried that the band was on the brink of splitting up, or being put indefinitely on the back burner in light of Brandon Flowers‘ new solo career, can now rest easy.

Brandon just told the UK’s the Metro that the band will be back in action by next year. Phew! All this talk of an indefinite hiatus was getting us worried.

Back in January a tabloid reported that the Killers were “sick of the sight of each other” since they had been consistently recording and touring without any real break for six years. Although a spokesman said that the band was fine, guitarist Dave Keuning said that playing Australia in February was going to be one of their “last shows for a while.”

Brandon has filled up the time since by releasing his first solo album, but said that he “missed [his band mates] sometimes” and that “the band can’t be replaced” when recording. Brandon added that “When the blows come it’s nice to have people there to share them with.”

For now, The Killers’ don’t have any date set but, according to Brandon, the band will be getting back together next year.
