Dublin: Guns N’ Roses Leaves Stage After Getting Bottled By Crowd

Filed Under:

It’s only been around a week and Guns N’ Roses have already angered another group of fans at a concert in Dublin.

In case you haven’t heard, last week Guns N’ Roses showed up late for their sets at the Reading and Leeds festival and were met angry fans and a very distraught concert promoter. The crowd surly Irish fans waited around an hour before Guns N’ Roses took to the stage to perform. It wasn’t long after the band started performing that the crowd threw bottles along with the chorus of boos echoing in the arena.

Shortly into their set, Axl addressed the crowd about the bottles being thrown.

One more bottle and we go home. It's up to you.
“Alright, Here’s the deal,” he said. “One more bottle and we go home. It’s up to you. We would like to stay. Do you want us to stay? We want to stay. We want to have some fun. If you don’t want to have fun you just gotta let us know and we got know problem and will go on our way. Start over.”

Well, the crowd answered with more bottles and the band walked off the stage. Promoters tried to calm the crowd down and it was unsure of whether or not the band would return to the stage. Eventually they came back out to perform to a much smaller crowd.

Axl is a piece of crap and it’s not even the original band. He is the only original member left. I guess people don’t read to see that he always shows up an hour late to all of his concerts.

ken, maybe if you’d stop being pushovers to all of these prima donnas, then they might say to themselves: guys, we can’t get away with disrespecting our audiences anymore, you know… the people paying for all our houses, cars and viagra. let’s start showing up on time to our gigs.

all my respect to the Irish crowd.

Why is GnR on KROQ’s website?
Axl is the biggest a-hole since Fred Durst (who was the biggest a-hole since Axl)

After Slash, Duff McKagen, and Matt Sorum left, GnR became shit. Axl is a dick and Bumblefoot, he’s a great guitarist and all and I respect him, but he can’t replace Slash. Nobody can.

The O2 is poorly run and is a dangerous place for audience members and performers as well. The “Security” staff allow rude and dangerous behavior repeatedly and then they and the press chuckle and excuse it as “oh those Irish”.
The Cat Stevens Fiasco in November was nothing more than a staged and planned anti-Muslim protest. The security allowed the booing and heckling like they did on this occasion and for the Italian Opera in December as well.
Go to a concert in the US- they may search your purse when you enter but they have adequately trained security that prevent problems BEFORE they happen. The O2 hires an angry half-man who is in charge of a swarm of ninny co-eds and they call that security. No wonder they have to call in the Guarda every other show.
My advise to any performer, bring your own security entourage-you’re going to need it if you play in Dublin. Oh and if you buy tickets for the O2, get an extra ticket for your body guard or don’t bother going.
