Depeche Mode Founders Martin Gore And Vince Clarke Work Together Again On New Project

Before Depeche Mode‘s guitarist/keyboardist Martin Gore took over the band’s songwriting, Yazoo and Erasure‘s Vince Clarke was the man who wrote the majority of the band’s music including their debut album Speak & Spell. Now the two musical forces have once again joined forces and are collaborating on a new project.
Clarke broke the news over Twitter, making mention to a new track titled “Zaat.”
So far, no new information about this collaboration has been posted, but if you’re a fan of Depeche Mode or any of Clarke’s music, be sure to follow him on Twitter. He advises fans to follow “for updates direct from the studio.”

Vince Clarke was only with Depeche Mode for their first album and was responsible for writing the band’s first singles Dreaming of Me, New Life and Just Can’t Get Enough.
For those of us that haven’t been following Vince Clarke’s career as of late, it seems as though he’s been quite busy remixing songs from classic KROQ bands Depeche Mode fans are familiar with.
Franz Ferdinand – No You Girls (Vince Clarke Remix)
White Town – Wanted (Vince Clarke Remix)
Happy Mondays – Wrote For Luck (The Vince Clarke Mix)
Nitzer Ebb – Ascend (Vince Clarke Mix)

Martin is a much better song writer than Vince. Sorry, Vince. I think Martin is responsible for the band’s darker music later on….And Dave…..well Dave just does as he’s told.

Vince has proved his talent 3 times over. He started Depeche, Yaz and Erasure and wrote their biggest pop hits. There would be no Depeche Mode without Vince Clarke.

Of course martin is responsible for the darker music. He was the songwriter then. Vince wasn’t in the band any longer. Vince writes pop. great synth pop.

Vince has blown all his money and both of his other bands have petered out… So it’s back to Martin for some exposure and one last hurrah… I don’t see this going anywhere… Maybe Martin produces a song, not the whole record, no reunion, etc…
