Rolling Stones Guitarist’s New Solo Album Will Feature Slash, Eddie Vedder And Flea
When classic and modern rock stars meet and make new music together, the results are usually awesome, and always worth checking out. The newest case in point? The Rolling Stones‘ guitarist Ronnie Wood teaming up with Slash, Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder and the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Flea to release a new solo album, I Feel Like Playing, due out September 27th.
The Brit rock legend was a late addition to the Rolling Stones, but built a career full of great collaborations with huge names in music: George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Bob Dylan and more. So for him to choose Slash, Eddie and Flea to help him out suggests that he’s marking them as the greats of our time.
I Feel Like Playing is the first original solo album Ronnie has released since Not For Beginners in 2001. That CD featured Slash as well, who became part of the Ronnie Wood Band that performed the songs on a special tour. And it’s clear the two have kept up their working relationship and friendship.
Check out the duo performing the song “Little Queenie.” And you can hear a track from the new album coming out on Ronnie Wood’s web site.
