I know I’m probably gonna start a flame war but…damn do i miss the old LP. This song is O.K. for an average band but for a band that i have loved since 4th grade and with such great talent…its a disappointment. YOU CANT EVEN HEAR BRAD’S GUITAR IN THE SONG! Anyway my grandmother just bought a new wheelchair the other day.just thought I’d throw that out there. Your welcome

they lost their anger and any talent that came with it

They had talent? I always thought they were riding that hideous “nu-metal” wave back in the early ’00 along with Papa Bizkit and everyone else, what with all the unecessary shouting and angst and whatnot. Every freaking song was the same, just reorganized shouting and lame rapping. I saw them at Epicenter last year (this year blows by comparison) and they were booed by everyone around me the moment they hit the stage.

Remind anyone of Story of the Year???

I don’t know man… If anybody caught my earlier comment on that last post about Linkin Park’s “The Catalyst” single before this music video, I was all about pointing out LP’s downward spiral into a poser-esk agenda as a business enitity on making money off posers and still thought that when actually hearing the song on KROQ for a bit. Then, one day I just started listening to it and it started to get catchy and new. Not new as in cool, but as in I haven’t really heard music be played like this. I mean, name a band? Any band out on the scene today that you can compare against. I haven’t heard anything else sound like this new LP. I thought that was a bad thing for a band to do. Now, I’m thinkin’ this new Linkin Park will actually be like a rebirth of LP into an even more extreme sense of reality. More than just hearing good music LP wants you to experience them. The video says it all! Seeing this video fully shows Linkin Park as a band debicting how they feel and for anyone that feels that way would definitely embrace that for comfort. Like Michael Jackson, or Depeche Mode, or even David Bowie. That sense of connection with the fans. That is why they’re trend continues. Cause more and more people of all ages are being attracted to mainstream music. It’s CRAZY!!! The whole cycle and how it all runs itself. Maybe I should stop shibbying, but basically to sum this all up is that I went from thinking this track and video would be all poserish to now being tripped on the visuals and chilling to the vibes coming from LP…its weird but I kinda dig this single and quite possibly the album, depending! If the album was as soft as Minutes to Midnight I’m over it. They have me at the moment with this track and video for now. They’re still kinda posers from their latest when comparing them to back in the oldschool Hybrid Theory days. I’m both sides of LP fans. The Hardcore and now from The Catalyst and Minutes to Midnight, the lightcore. It’s definitely the marijuana enhancing the track. I’ll tell you what! Go smoke some weed, listen to the song, and then decide on how badly or goodly this single will be on KROQ. The Catalyst has my vote. I’m spent! Lates. o.O IImII

I think the band matures and changes as everyone does, I still love LP and I like the new and old stuff. As for talent? They certainly still have it. 🙂 Yay! Love it!
