Hot Hot Heat

Hot Hot Heat has delivered its first new studio album in nearly three years, Future Breeds. Produced by singer/keyboardist Steve Bays, it’s the group’s first on Dangerbird Records and easily echoes the brilliance of studio debut Makeup The Breakdown.

After parting ways with Sire Records, the members of Hot Hot Heat proceeded to build their own studio, write a lot of material, and make the record they wanted to make. Once the task was complete, next up was shopping it and hooking up with the right label. Dangerbird, home of such artists as Silversun Pickups, Delphic, Minus The Bear, Sea Wolf, and Darker My Love, became the band’s choice. From day one, we were talking about it being more of the kind of album you can throw on at a party.

Hot Hot Heat has always impressed with its live shows, and for the first time, Last.fm Discover feels the band has totally captured that sound on disc. After checking out their session at our studio (via the videos below), try to check them out on tour. They are currently out with co-Artist Of The Week 22-20s through September 21 in the U.S. After that Hot Hot Heat break off for dates in Canada, U.K. and Germany.
