Queens Of The Stone Age Returned To The Stage For Benefit Show
On Thursday night Club Nokia was packed for a benefit show for cancer-stricken, Eagles of Death Metal bassist Brain O’Connor. Among the performers, Queens of the Stone Age played their first U.S. show since 2008. Some of the songs they played included “Battery Acid,” “Little Sister,” and “No One Knows.”
If rock n’ roll were the cure for cancer, cancer wouldn’t have a fighting chance after that night.
The frontman for Eagles of Death Metal, Jesse Hughes made his way to the sage Thursday night and made clear to the packed crowd of the nights purpose. “We are gonna call upon the power and fury of rock and roll to heal our friend,” he said.
Ticket prices ranged from $50 to $250, with all proceeds going to O’Connor’s recovery in part by the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. The artists who took part included Eagles of Death Metal, Last Shadow Puppets, Alain Johannes, QOTSA and then an encore with Mark Lanegan.
