NME's Limp Bizkit tee. Hit NME.com to buy yours.
When talking about Limp Bizkit, we all fall into one of three groups.
- I thought they were dead. I wish they’d stay that way.
- Don’t care… They were kinda cool back in the day but totally irrelevant now.
- I liked them then and I like them now and I don’t care what you say.
Regardless of how you feel, you’re lying if you say that you’re not at least a little curious what they sound like today. We’ve got their first single from their forthcoming CD Gold Cobra.

Where do you stand on the always controversial Limp Bizkit?

WTF?
Why they try to rip off Tool?
Fred Durst can be sealed in a 55 gallon drum of acid.

Not that bad, surprisingly. Thing is, LB have the same stigma on them as Nickelback – they’ve made so much bad music in their time and are so reviled, that even someone who heard this new song and liked it would never admit it. Especially in hipster-mad LA. All people can talk about is how the new Arcade Fire album is “blowing their minds” (not to diss AF, but the new album is just good, not amazing).

I’m that 4th choice, Loved Limp Bizkit since “Three Dollar Bill, Yall$” to “Results May Vary” and haven’t changed a single feeling over any bullshit despite the hate of posers and ignorant narrow minded people who don’t know what its like to feel the pains dug deep within the lyrics… Why would anybody compare one lick of guitar notes with TOOL!?!? LAME! And the reason I’m guessing why they took so long is cause of Fred Durst’s inner conflicts with himself. He’s kinda like a light switch…off, then on, then off. Whatever he’s been doing between all that sounds pretty freakin’ great to me. Sounds like their “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water” vibe… I dig it! CAn’t wait for the album to drop and for LB to quit pussy footin around SoCal and play a damn arena gig!!! The Palladium, The Olympic Auditorium, shit! A fu@kin’ opened vacant lot!!! Anything place where they can fit a stage with sound control booth and enough space for real fans to celebrate in total chaos like back in the old days!!! Here’s about the point where I’d get excited but Fred has run my emotions and expectations down to the ground with this waiting patiently shit. I’m over it but will always represent the LBF!!! Any Time, Any Where. Word! Good lookin’ out Lightning! Let us know when the Limp Bizkit secret show drops in SoCal…if ever!

Don’t care…. Just like during the Limp Bizkit guitarist try-outs where Fred told us approximately 99.9 percent of the people sucked. Well the guitar try-outs were poorly organized. This is the main reason why people hate Limp Bizkit. The band wasn’t even there to try out for us. There was no requirement to try out. You had to play your best original song in approximately 2 minutes. I tried out at Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd in 2001 or 2002. Why should we take this band seriously when all they do is ridicule us for guitar tryouts were insanely disorganized???????????

Limp Bizkit is the “bad guy” wrestler of the metal world. I think back to summer 03 at the Coliseum with Metallica. Everyone booo’d the band, yet sung along to every line of every song. They need you hate. They thrive on hate. If you boo and chuck trash at them, they are doing their job. That said, I first saw Limp Bizkit in 96 with Korn in Palo Alto, California and have been rocking with them ever since. This song is rocking (Fred is the worst part) and I look forward to Gold Cobra.

They sucked back in the day so not sure why I should even bother now.

Wow…the people here who actually think this is a good song have lost their minds. Three Dollar Bill was a rad release, Wes Borland is very underrated. But this is WalMart rock at its best. Fred Durst continues to write lyrics that might win a 6th grade poetry contest. The music is too bland to make up for the fact that Durst is still fronting this band.

Back in the day (like 11 or 12 years ago) when they played small clubs, they were great. Wes has become more seasoned. Fred sounds okay when he’s screaming but never has been able to sing. “John Otto, take me to the Matthews bridge.” -that’s where they lost me. And I’m from fuckin’ Jacksonville. Aren’t they touring with Wu-Tang or something? That should answer a lot….

I must say, I’ve been a devoted fan of LB since 1997 when “Three Dollar Bill Ya’ll” was compared to RATM; This is one hell of a track! Beautifully tracked first of all, NO “AUTO-TUNE” on Fred’s vocals(he did multiple takes until he chose the take he felt rocked the most), awesome coloring from the guitars and bass(I love Wes and Sam’s creativity), and John Otto…well…IT’S JOHN OTTO PEOPLE!!! Have you seen his jazz drumming demonstrations?!? The man is an elite drummer in my book and inspired some of the “tightest” beats in millenium rock music. In conclusion, I am a loyal and devoted fan, I choose to follow their music, you decipher and make YOUR own decision, the song is really well mixed/mastered, great job LB! PEACE FOO’S!

It’s not a bad song. I guess Fred’s legal fees are becoming a burden. Limp Bizkit seems a little limited in musical scope, but within that scope, they’re pretty good.

Great song. Back when they first came out, I loved their music. However, after a while, things weren’t the same and I didn’t really listen to their music after their Chocolate Starfish album (which is my fave). Wes was gone. They had lost something. But now he’s back and this track sounds amazing. Why Try was pretty f**kin sick too. Limp Bizkit is BACK. These guys bend the rules and they’re damn good at it. All these “safe rock” pretentious assholes can go fuck themselves. Can’t wait for Gold Cobra.

#2. Don’t care, irrelevant. But I am surprised by this. It’s not bad for a Tool rip off.

that’s HORRIBLE! The music’s banal and his voice is not right for the song. he needs to work on his vocal skills a bit more.

For those that don’t know, after Wes left the band back in 2001, Limp Bizkit have persevered even though the mainstream stopped paying attention. Now, in 2010, Wes is back in the band and LB are ready to put out their new album “Gold Cobra.” I love this band to death, I have since 1999 when they were huge. I’m so happy the original lineup is back on and I want to thank all of the LB fans for managing to get KROQ to acknowledge this. Hopefully more people come around. Love them or hate them, they’re something few bands are these days: UNIQUE.

All your f@#%$#g critics, get out and produce your own music & compare. OK, you suck too. Fred helped other bands get their start. They’re OK in my book.

Limp Bizkit is waaaay better than the crap you hear on the radio. I flew out to Columbus, Ohio to see them at Rock on the Range and they tore it up! Their live show has so much energy and they put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. LB for life!!!

I bet you the people who’re hating LB have no idea why they are, the people hating LB were the ones who use to wear that backwards red cap 10 years ago; now that people hate the band they’ve jump on the lets hate LB bandwagon. How exactly does this sound like Tool? seriously – how? i think you people are trying too hard to criticize the band.

I will start off first by saying I hate limp bizkit and despise Fred Durst as a lyricist, musician, father, brother, son, and a man. This isnt the worst song I have ever heard, but it’s up there. Wes just shows how untalented he is, this is something a beginner on guitar could come up with. Fred Durst probably realized how much hatred he’s gotten for his voice and lyrics over the year’s so now he’s trying to be all deep and attempting to actually sing. What a horrible failure. I never had a problem with Sam Rivers or John Otto, infact I think theyre good musicians, so I’ll leave them alone. If this is a small sample of their big “comeback” then they should just end their band for good and stick to what they were doing before the reunion. And by the way, the general arrangement of the guitar’s in this song was copied from a song called “a song for milly michaelson” by the band Thrice. Go listen to it and tell me Wes didnt use the same notes.

I love the band and enjoy this song.
I have been a fan since the 8th grade and will continue to support them. Whether you are a fan of theirs or not…it’s hard to not respect the energy they bring to their live shows. Amazing!
To the one poster who verbal diarrhea’d his extreme “hatred” for Fred Durst… go see a therapist and talk some things out…or maybe a hug and a lolly pop would suffice?? Seriously, what’s with the personal insults? Haha, I don’t get it.

Limp Bizkit is the shit. They made a few bombs after chocolate star fish but they will always be one of the greats in my book. I hope this new album is the shit. The new walking away song is ok but I expect better from them.
