Rage Against the Machine – The Best Live Band Ever (Excluding Weird Al)

In a just world, without an evil  ”machine,” taking advantage of the helpless, my favorite band wouldn’t exist. I’m in favor of people being mistreated (somewhere else),  because I love Rage so much, and when people are mistreated, they take the stage and melt your face.

This past weekend, Rage played for the first time in 10 years in L.A. at the Palladium to protest Arizona law SB 1070, which we lovingly refer to as the “He’s a Mexican! Get him!” law.

For more on this, and some video highlights of the Rage show, click more.

A spokeswoman at the show took the mic and yelled that if you are in Arizona, and you’re giving birth in a hospital, the police will barge in and hand-cuff you.  I’m no expert, but I doubt that would ever happen. You know why? Because any Mexican woman who’s in great pain, and trying to breathe through it, and push a baby out would kick your f**king ass if you tried to mess with her.  Cop or not.

But this isn’t about politics, it’s about Rage Against the Machine. Rage played some super old stuff, and, of course, a bunch of their hits. The entire venue was  mosh pit. I got knocked over twice and I was in the very back! What a rush. The important thing here, is that if you EVER get an opportunity to see the best live band in existence, do it.

Here are a few highlights of the show:

This is a awesome story and so very true! The intensity of the music (and the politics behind it) totally transforms you. Even if you’re a idiot and don’t understand a thing about it, you get to head bang in a mosh pit and decrease your intelligence even further. Therefore-with little or no good brain cells left, you become the perfect candidate to become a Kevin & Bean listener!

THE SOUNDTRACK TO THE REVOLUTION!

I’m all for sticking it to “the man” and all that and have always enjoyed them but after this benefit it’s pretty clear they really just need something to be angry about in their music. Anyone who condones illegal immigration is bonkers.

Oh wait, the government themselves condones illegal immigration – I forgot since they are the one’s that let big companies hire them without ramifications. So really, if you think about it – Rage is now a part of “the machine” themselves! ha ha

No matter the politics – It was Effin’ Epic…Reminded me of my first Rage show/pit, Lolla 1993!

Been to over 10 shows over the past 15 years :-)

Rage is the best live band around.

Rock the Bells ’07 was the best live show I’ve been to. Nothing can top that in my opinion.

I find it so funny that Zach was raised in an Upper-Class household in Southern Orange County. Oh the irioning…

I concur, but I would like to extend it a bit further, the best band period! Zack as lead of RaM is the best, barnone.

If Rage was the best, they would not have quit during the Bush era. It’s easy to be angry when the left is in charge. Likewise, Rage wants to keel illegals here because they support the modern day slave movement known as Day Labor.

hardly the best band ever doesnt come close to best live band either im not saying they suck but kevin your stuck in the 90′s with your striped shirts and khaki shorts and have shown over years that your music taste dont exactly cover a huge range

R.A.t.M. will still live on forever as the greatest rock (actually, even more than that!) band ever to begin since the year I was born. Long live Zac, Tim, Brad, and especially Tom Morello!!

I wish I had been there. Rage Against The Machine is one of the best bands alive. You just cannot deny their talent. Their music is intense and has meaning behind it, unlike the buble gum crappy bands these days.

RAGE Rocks!!!!!!!
