OC’s “Locally Grown” Concert Series Line-Up Announced

The annual Locally Grown concert series is returning to OC this August.

The series, which showcases up-and-coming bands from Orange County, takes place at the Grove of Anaheim every Thursday of the month. The 4-night series features a different genre each week.

Thursday, August 5th features the indie/americana band Dusty Rhodes & The River Band (pictured above) supported by The Fling and Two Guns. Dusty and his crew bring a whole new funk to the indie scene with a sound that blends gospel and good ol’ fashioned rock n’ roll. Check out the video below of their new song “All One!” off their self-titled album.

The following Thursday, August 12th, features the hip hop/electro band Blok headlining, with supporting acts by Railroad to Alaska and The Lovely Bad Things. Where Blok will get you up and dancing with their catchy beats, Railkroad to Alaska brings a more grunge/prog rock style to the party.  Check out this video of Railroad to Alaska performing their song, “Learn To Share.”

On August 19th, the rockabilly/punk scene hits the Grove with headlining act The Sugar Daddys followed up by Faraway Boys and Trash Monsters. These bands stay true to their rockabilly roots and the result is some pretty kick-ass music. Check out the song “Rockin’ In The Graveyard” by the Trash Monsters.

The Final day of the series, August 24th features four acts. Headlining is The Union Line and they are supported by The Coulorist, Yellow Red Sparks and Moonshine & The Drugs. These indie bands end the series in style and will leave you wishing that it wasn’t the last Thursday in August.
