Skinnie Mag gets to dissect the real Stryker, and we get to learn about his humble start in the radio biz, and how his career continued to take off without ever coming down.
From working at the Four Seasons, to Baskin Robbins, he was working hard and getting schooled in Tucson so that one day he could make it big in LA airwaves. Being an LA native was a fair advantage to getting some of his biggest jobs to date. Who would’ve thought that one day you could be scooping cones at the 31 Flavors to breaking music’s biggest bands the next? With Stryker’s help, bands like 311 and Muse became household names.
His calling to KROQ came when an LA radio “decision maker” stopped by the Tuscon station and asked him to come on air and “try it out” by 8PM that same day. Now with a brief stint at AMP Radio, previous co-host of Loveline, and a slew of video game, movie, and TV show appearances under his belt, he’s settled down at his home station that made him who he is today, KROQ.
