That’s right folks. The legendary cartoon featuring one of the most dynamic duos ever to grace the TV screen will be returning this fall to MTV. Get ready to act like a dumb-ass again while pulling your shirt up over your head and trying to replicate their infamous laughs and catch-phrases like “I am cornholio!”

Beavis and Butthead are coming back, and I’m sure as hell excited about it. Read the story after the jump.

Although it was once the place to go to see all the newest and coolest music videos around, MTV can hardly call themselves “Music Television” nowadays. Filled with shows that have little or nothing to do with music, MTV has certainly taken a path that I think none expected during the hype of the 90′s. Even with the addition of MTV2, which in the beginning was the supposed solution to dwindling music time on the main MTV channel, music videos were still aired less and less.

Well, they have decided to change that trend and bring back the “Music” in MTV, while also bringing back one of the most classic cartoons of all time. According to the New York Post (who spoke with reps at MTV), “The return of “Beavis and Butt-head” will be a backdoor means for MTV to return to showing music videos — something the network was founded upon but abandoned in the last decade.”

If you aren’t familiar with Beavis and Butthead, it’s a cartoon pair of high school kids who are left to live on their own as they cause mischief EVERYWHERE they go. Mix in some lazy couch sessions (where popular music videos come on while receiving commentary from the two) and random air guitar breakdowns, and you have the greatest music/cartoon combo ever. It’s definitely adult humor, but I can recall watching it as early as 10 years old, which I’m sure many of you can as well.

Well played MTV. Well played…
