So You Wanna Be A KROQ Phone Op?

Do you have a passion for music? Is the radio your friend? Do you have a knack for creative writing? Is KROQ on your car ‘s presets? Can you answer a phone? If you answered yes to all these questions, then we have the perfect job for you!

College students are preferred; we’re currently seeking enthusiastic, hard-working individuals with a flexible schedule, reliable transportation and who can provide feedback by taking calls and requests from our loyal listeners. Our phone ops are the ones that link our listeners to our station, and it’s time you joined our team.

We’re currently looking for detail-oriented individuals with a strong work ethic and friendly attitude who can take calls, answer questions, and submit song requests from gazillions of KROQ listeners.

Position: Part-time Phone Op

Availability: Immediate

Reports to: Programming

Phone Op duties include:

• Answering request line; taking song requests, answering general music/concert related questions, and conducting on-air contests.
• Answering business line; taking and distributing messages to and from CBS Radio personnel.
• Contributing music news and creative content for KROQ.com in the form of blogging.
• Various administrative duties such as filing, organizing, and providing listener feedback in daily reports.

Requirements:

• Must have an interest in radio and all things KROQ.
• Must have the talent and desire to think and write creatively.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be detail oriented and work well under deadlines.
• MUST have strong professionalism.
