Check Out The Ultimate Rock Art Exhibit In LA

Breaking rock news and introducing the world to influential bands for the past 25 years, Alternative Press will be celebrating their mark on the music scene in style.
Beginning July 10th, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery will be hosting a special art exhibit in celebration of the magazine’s own collection of rock memorabilia. Think about it- 25 years is a LONG time to gather up tons of special edition concert posters, collectible magazine covers and various other types of merch.
Not only will you be able to check this stuff out, but you’ll also be able to drop some pretty pennies on art made specifically for this show by rockers like Tim Armstrong, Marilyn Manson and more. Many, many more.

For those that don’t know, Alternative Press is a music magazine known for breaking news on all things surrounding punk, rock, metal and everything in between. AP was the first national music publication to feature bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins on its cover and still showcases up and coming bands on its sold-out AP Tours.
The public opening party for AP’s exhibit at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery will be Saturday July 10th from 8-11 pm.
Artwork on display at the exhibit will include the works of Armstrong, Manson, Black Francis (The Pixies), Shirley Manson (Garbage), Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), Adam Jones (Tool), Marc “Porter” McKnight (Atreyu), Anthony Green and Colin Frangicetto (Circa Survive), and the man behind the Obama “HOPE” poster, Shepard Fairey.
Most of the art made by the aforementioned artists will be on sale so it might be time to bring a hammer to that good ol’ piggy bank!! Come on, let’s get a lil cultured my fellow KROQers…
