The Chicago-based website The A.V. Club recently had Rise Against set up shop in their offices to help knock off another cover from their “A.V. Undercover” project. The new music video series can be explained as following: “25 bands, 25 cover songs, one small round room.”

Tim McIlrath and his fellow straight edge rockers chose to play a pretty heavy Nirvana song and no, it’s not one you’ve recently heard on KROQ.

Find out which song they played after the jump. It was fun to add our own signature to a heavy band that was an influence..on me at least.

Originally released as a Nirvana single back in 1990, “Sliver” was the cover song of choice in the video you’ll see below. Whether or not it’s actually about mashed potatoes and grandma’s house or if it’s just Kurt Cobain’s way of trying to confuse the hell out of his fans, it’s worth a listen.

This cover sucks balls. The people who vote “it’s awesome” suck ass.

Vocals leave a lot to be desired, but not terrible.
