The #1 Locals Only Band this week is Young The Giant, formerly known as The Jakes, with their song “Cough Syrup,” which you’ve probably heard on the Locals Only show.

Formerly known as The Jakes, Young The Giant is made up of Sameer Gadhia on vocals, Jacob Tilley on guitar, Eric Cannata on guitars and vocals, Payam Doostzadeh on bass, and Francois Comtois on drums and vocals.

The band is currently in the studio recording material for their new album and is working with Grammy-winning producer Joe Chiccarrelli.
Young The Giant will be touring with Steel Train this summer. Check ‘em out at the El Rey Theatre July 6th.

I truly cannot wait for Young the Giant’s debut to drop. They are a great combination of a Julian Casablancas-esque voice combined with a fresh indie sound. Really cannot wait.

I agree with you Hash. Great job Stryker…i like the band, even though i have heard them as “the Jakes” , not too many songs but was not aware of name change until now. I like their sound.
