Snow Patrol Prepares New Album For 2011

Snow Patrol have revealed that they’re returning to the studio to record their sixth studio album.
Snow Patrol hasn’t released an album since October 2008′s, A Hundred Million Suns, besides last year’s compilation, Up to Now.
When drummer Jonny Quinn was asked when the new record would be released he said, “Definitely next year, at what point we don’t know. It will be after February and before July. We’re going to record new material in October.”

Singer Gary Lightbody revealed that he has been writing a lot of the band’s new songs outside. “These days, it’s better to be out somewhere in the open, by the sea,” he said.
It seems fitting considering Lightbody lives by the sea in Ireland and finds “that’s the most inspiring.” The singer goes on to say that the band “write(s) on the tour bus, in dressing rooms, in the studio and in phone boxes because no one is using them because everyone has mobile phone.”
