The band originated from a group of friends who all had previously played together or were in mutual friends’ bands. Their original name was A Couple Of Couples, but eventually switched to Silversun Pickups. They began playing shows at Silverlake Lounge and Spaceland and started drawing a crowd. They released an EP, titled Pikul, in 2005 and drew an even larger following.
In September 2006 the band released their first full-length album, Carnavas, which had the singles “Lazy Eye” and “Well Thought Out Twinkles” that both did well in the Billboard Moden Rock charts. The band went on tour with Wolfmother, then headed out in early 2007 with OK Go and Snow Patrol. They also performed at Coachella in 2007, as well as both the 2007 Weenie Roast and Almost Acoustic Christmas, followed by a short UK/Ireland tour with Foo Fighters. Needless to say they were quite busy!
Fast-forward two years to 2009 and the release of their second full-length album, Swoon, which contains their most popular track “Panic Switch.” This album earned them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, but fell short to the Zac Brown Band. They performed at the 2009 Weenie Roast, then toured with Placebo in Winter 2009 and supported Muse on some early 2010 dates. They recently announced that they will be touring with Against Me! and The Henry Clay People.
Silversun Pickups are going to ROCK Weenie Roast 2010!

This band is awesome….Too bad more people don’t realize how much talent they have. PS. Listen to thier whole album(s) – The non-commercial songs are the best!
