Weenie Roast 2010 Artist Spotlight: Paramore

Paramore will be performing at this year’s Weenie Roast!
The group, which consists of their amazing vocalist Hayley Williams, accompanied by brothers Josh and Zac Farro, Taylor York and Jeremy Davis, will be hitting the stage June 5th and rocking your face off.

When Williams was 13, she moved to Franklin, Tennessee, which is where she met the Farro brothers. She took vocal lessons from Brett Manning, who has also worked with singers like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Keith Urban. Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis initially formed a cover band called The Factory, but eventually formed the group Paramore.
The band played several local shows and made their way onto the Warped Tour and The Taste Of Chaos Tour. In 2005, Fueled By Ramen’s CEO John Janick signed the group after hearing them at Taste Of Chaos and a private warehouse show. Their first album was released in 2005, titled All We Know Is Falling. There were a few singles from the album that never really picked up air play, and the band continued to play tours and shows around the U.S. In Summer 2006, they had their first headlining tour, which saw sold-out audiences all over.
In January 2007, they began recording their second album, Riot!, which eventually came out June 21, 2007, and debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200. Their first single from the album, “Misery Business,” was a huge success. The band blew up on MTV (which is rare these days) and they continued on with their third Warped Tour. They also performed on Late Night With Conan O’brien. “Hallelujah” was the second single to emerge, but was available online only, followed by the song “Crushcrushcrush,” which was also widely popularized by MTV. They capped off 2007 with a performance at Almost Acoustic Christmas.
Paramore was voted “Best Band Of 2007″ by readers of AP magazine and was nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The band spent the beginning of 2008 touring, but rumored troubles in the band led them to cancel 6 dates on a European tour. The band took a few weeks off and things seemed to return to normal as they released their fourth single from Riot!, “That’s What You Get.” They went back to playing shows, making stops on the Warped Tour then heading out on their own The Final Riot! tour. They released a live album, The Final Riot!, which is currently certified gold in the U.S. This prompted another stop at the 2008 Almost Acoustic Christmas.
In early 2009, the band completed recording their third studio album, Brand New Eyes, and released the first single, “Ignorance,” in July. The following two singles, “Brick By Boring Brick” and “The Only Exception” have both received tons of airplay. Their song “Decode” was also the feature track from the first Twilight film.
The group has been nominated and won several awards like the Teen Choice Awards, Kerrang! Reader’s Poll Awards, Planeta Awards, Grammy Awards, People’s Choice and more. The band also performed at the Troubadour when their album released for KROQ’s Super Tuesday.
