Cage The Elephant kicked ass at Almost Acoustic Christmas 2009.

The group from Bowling Green, Kentucky has made a name for themselves with their song “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked.”

The band signed with EMI Records after performing at SXSW in 2007. They then packed up and moved to London and released their self-titled debut album in 2008. They appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman in July 2009 and performed their single “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked,” which reached #1 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, which ranks “new or developing acts.” They’ve played several huge festivals, such as SXSW, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Bonnaroo. They also played at Almost Acoustic Christmas last year and received a great response from the crowd.

The band is composed of Matthew Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (guitar), Lincoln Parish (lead guitar), Daniel Tichenor (bass/vocals) and Jared Champion (percussion).

CTE sat down for an interview with Kevin & Bean at ACX 2009.

They did rock that ACX 09′!!! I wasn’t even there but that KROQ live webcast feed just got electrified within these guys set and I was on a good one! They have some really kickin’ tracks and they’re pretty damn good live. When a band can give its all to the crowd, I know its a great show! We’ll see if I can get Weenie Roast tickets this year…No Loge though! ORCH only!!! Only way to fully enjoy the show. Nice post Blackout.
