Muse is one of those rare bands that you just know is going to be heard for many years to come. The caliber of their live show is far above and beyond almost every other band out there. Matt Bellamy’s vocals have the potential to show up on lists of the greatest rock voices of all time! KROQ has been fortunate enough to have Matt, Christopher, and Dominic play some of our big concerts, and yet some of our listeners have still never had the privilege of seeing them perform live! Well, my friends, the time has come!

When Absolution came out in 2003 and “Time is Running Out” hit US airwaves, this band was instantly on my radar and was added to a mental list of Bands I Need To See Live. I remember buying a magazine around that time that had a big feature on Muse title something to the effect of “Your Favorite Band’s Favorite Band”. That pretty much gave them instant credibility.  They were nowhere near the global phenomenon that they are today, but it just shows that not every band turns out to be a one hit wonder. Magazines actually get things right from time to time! Muse is a three piece band, ladies and gentlemen. A THREE PIECE band! All that sound is coming out of THREE dudes! Granted, they do have other musicians that tour and play with them on stage, but you get what I’m saying.

With their next US tour coming up in September, Muse has done something that I have rarely seen done before. They have given us, as fans, access to their live show FOR FREE! I noticed that the top banner of their myspace page says, STREAM THE SHOW FROM SEATTLE ON MYSPACE. I say, “YES PLEASE!”

Muse will be playing the Honda Center in Anaheim on September 23rd, and the Staples Center in L.A. on September 25th in support of their latest album, The Resistance.
