According to NME, [lastfm]Adam Ant[/lastfm] is putting out his first album in 15 years. Word on the street says an ex-Oasis member is collaborating with Ant to bring you one hell of a record.

Ant got down to the details about his upcoming album “Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar in Marrying The Gunner’s Daughter“, and yes, that’s really is the name of the album.

According to Ant, the new album is a sort of a “live record that lends itself to performance” Ant also went on to saying that the recording process for the album has “very old-fashioned, old school, step-by-step”

A tribute song to the recent late great Sex Pistols’ manager, [lastfm]Malcolm McLaren[/lastfm] will also grace Adam Ant’s new album. Malcolm McLaren, died earlier this month due to Mesothelioma complications. McLaren managed Adam & The Ants in the early 80s as well as the [lastfm]New York Dolls[/lastfm], [lastfm]Bow Wow Wow[/lastfm] and the [lastfm]Sex Pistols[/lastfm].

malcolm Adam Ant To Release First Album In 15 Years

The track is reportedly titled ‘Who’s A Goofy Bunny Then?’ A term of endearment coined by Ant in regards to McLaren’s “quite prominent teeth.”

No word yet on a release date for the album but sources say it could be released as soon as this year.

With songs like “Wonderful” and “Room at the Top” in the ’90’s it seemed like Ant was proving that he was not just a novelty act from the ’80’s. Hopefully this album picks up where he left off 15 years ago.

Having checked out recent footage of Adam on Youtube, both at his own gigs, and helping out Gary Numan on ‘Cars’, bearing in mind he’s now 55, he looks incredibly fit, and raring to go. If I look that good in 13 years time, when I hit 55, I’ll be well pleased. Been an Antfan since 1980, and I’m really looking forward to hearing this new material when it’s finally released. With regards to the ex-Oasis member, my ‘virtual’ money’s on Bonehead!!!
