LIVE BLOG: Coachella Day 2

Devo!
2:00 AM
Les Claypool plays the bass like none other. He had a MASSIVE crowd down at the Mojave tent, competing with the one next door at the Sahara tent for Z-Trip.

Headed over to the Outdoor stage to catch some of The Dead Weather‘s set, where I was forced to stand in the WAY back because it seemed like a ton of people spilled over after Muse’s set next door on the main stage. Jack White and Alison Mosshart make a great combo!
Caught only a few minutes of Tiesto because I wanted to head down to the Mojave tent to get a decent spot for Devo. He had the entire crowd dancing their hearts out with his epic sound and style, and it was a dance party early into the morning.
All day long I’ve seen people wearing the classic Devo hat, and it made me realize how excited TONS of people were to see them. While the crew may not be in their prime, they still delivered a tremendous set and blew away everyone.
As night 2 comes to a close, it’s time to trek it back to the AWESOME hotel we are in and prep for the third and final day of Coachella. We finally have some pictures up for you too! See you tomorrow!
9:45 PM

Mike Patton of Faith No More is awesome. He joked about the band’s age (calling themselves 80 years old), and then later jumped out and crowd surfed with the mic stuffed in his mouth. These guys might be a little old, but they still know how to put on a top-notch show. These guys definitely appealed to the older crowd…
MGMT sounded great…but were boring to watch. Maybe that’s why halfway through their set everyone left to go get ready for Muse on the main stage. Regardless, they still had girls sitting on dude’s shoulders screaming their hearts out.
MUSE are the rock gods of Coachella so far. Everyone is singing their lungs out, Matt Bellamy stopped for a solid minute during “Starlight” as people sang as loud as they could. This is the loudest that I have heard the crowds here so far! They definitely have one of the longest sets here as well, with an hour and a half time slot allotted to them.
Gonna go check out some more Muse, Les Claypool, Dead Weather, Tiesto and Devo. Hopefully I can survive…another update coming after that!
7:15 PM – Coheed and Cambria are now on the main stage!

Do you remember White Rabbits from Almost Acoustic Christmas last year? Well, they were on the main stage today and had a pretty good performance, showcasing their unique New York indie sound. It seemed like a lot of people didn’t know who they were before they heard them here today, but will leave here as fans. The glory of Coachella…
Headed over to the Gobi tent to catch some of Band Of Skulls set. As you can tell from their performance at the KROQ Coachella house (which you can see here), they know how to rock. These British dudes had people spilling out that huge ass tent.
I wandered even farther down to the Sahara tent to catch some of Dirty South, an Australian DJ that has remixed several KROQ artists like Coldplay. He had the Sahara tent jumpin’!

Some of the random things you see around the venue…this guy is right outside the Sahara tent.
As I write this, I’m listening to Coheed and Cambria‘s set on the main stage. They’re mixing old and new songs, and they sound incredible. Lead singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez is a beast, you can see how great of a musician he is in this video of him performing at the KROQ Coachella house earlier today.
Going to be checking out Hot Chip, Faith No More and MGMT soon so keep checking back!
4:30 PM

Got a late start on the day, traffic is a mess getting into here! People are partying over at the KROQ tent by the entrance of the venue, dancing to the sounds of our AWESOME DJ’S and staying cool in the nice air conditioning.
I caught a few seconds of The Temper Trap at the Outdoor Stage as I walked in. These Aussies know how to put on a show! They had a massive crowd formed under the scorching desert sun. Check out their live performance yesterday at the KROQ Coachella house here.
I’ll be checking out Band Of Skulls, The Raveonettes, Coheed and Cambria, Faith No More, MGMT, Muse, The Dead Weather, Devo and more, so keep checking back in for updates!
We also have some photo galleries in the works that will be available to you soon, including: The Women of Coachella, Life Around The Venue, and an exclusive look at the backstage area.
Keep checking back for everything Coachella!
