Coachella Artist Spotlight: Matt And Kim
Matt and Kim just might be the best guy/girl duo to hit the scene since The White Stripes. With infectious melodies and uplifting choruses, these two are slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with. And playing both Coachella and Lollapalooza this year, they’ll be hard for you to miss.
Plus, their videos contain nudity! I know you’re in now.

The duo of Matt Johnson (keyboard) and Kim Schifino (drums) met while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and released their self titled debut CD in Fall 2006 through IHEARTCOMIX records. The release of the CD got them signed onto a slew of festivals (including Lollapalooza) and with their own touring over the next year the pair was able to gain enough of a following to release a second CD, Grand. The album found it’s way into the Billboard 200 and received a great deal of attention when the song Daylight was used in commercials for Bacardi and The Sims 3.
You most definitely won’t want to miss their high energy performance at Coachella. They have some of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard. In fact, while typing this blog, I haven’t been able to get Daylight out of my head.
Check out the underwear party they threw on stage at the MTVU Woodie Awards.
This has gotta be one of the most ballsy videos I’ve ever seen. No pun intended.

That was an awesome set of videos, and you’re right about the last one — somehow that goes way beyond the silly public nudity of Blink 182, or Alanis Morisette’s (staged) “Thank You” video.

Not as much nudity as chatroulette! Ha!
“Okay, dude jacking off, dude jacking off, *coughes* yeah, that’s a dude jacking off.” -Cartman (South Park).
