Celebrate Record Store Day At Coachella

April 17th is gearing up to be a big day for everyone.

Whether you’ll be in LA for Record Store Day or out in the desert braving day 2 of Coachella, the powers at be have made it possible for everyone to celebrate independent record stores, or as ambassador Josh Homme likes to call em, ” hot pit[s] of discovery…..and bacteria.”

For those of you prepping to be stuck in the desert when Record Store Day hits, Coachella has a surprise for you.

What’s Record Store Day? I’m glad you asked. It’s a global event consisting of over 1,000 independent records stores dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the impact that indie music retail has had and continues to have on the music of today.

For the second consecutive year, Coachella will have its own pop-up record store on-site (powered by Zia Records) to sell specialty Record Store Day merchandise, as well as a spot for autograph sessions with over 60 Coachella artists.

According to Coachella central, “Them Crooked Vultures will release a 10″ picture disc on April 17, which contains ”Mind Eraser, No Chaser,” one of the most popular tracks from their self-titled debut album, with a live version of “Highway One,” (live from Sydney) and “Vulture Speak,” an interview with the band.

Queens of the Stone Age is also releasing a Record Store Day piece, “Feel Good Hit of the Summer EP”.  This is a first -time release in the US.”

Some of the artists who will be having autograph sessions at Coachella are LCD Soundsystem, La Roux, Imogen Heap, Coheed & Cambria, The Temper Trap, White Rabbits, Band of Skulls, Spoon, MGMT, Local Natives and many, many more.
