Years after parting ways, could the old members of Taking Back Sunday really put aside their issues and take the stage together again?

Musicians are such drama queens! Little arguments can escalate into band member departures, break-ups, permanent “side projects,” or the end up in the cryptic “hiatus” status. Sometimes bands can fully recover and continue on with a successful career, but still never regain that same type of spark that the old line-up once had.

Back in the day I was a huge Taking Back Sunday fan! I couldn’t wait to see Adam, John, Shaun, Eddie, and Mark open for the Used at the Glasshouse in Pomona! That was the one and only time that I’d ever see those guys play together… UNTIL NOW!

Starting with public statements of departure being released by TBS’ two Matts, fans speculated about who would fill the guitarist’s and bassist’s positions. It just so happens that John Nolan and Shawn Cooper, two of the “original” members, happen to play guitar and bass. These separate statements, followed by a “LOOK OUT!!!” tweet from Nolan’s twitter account kept people on their toes. Now, officially confirmed on Alternative Press’ website, Taking Back Sunday has reunited with the former members! Along with the article is a video with all 5 members and a scrolling caption that states:  Sometimes it takes some time to remember where you were headed in the first place and the people you intended to go there with. There's no hard feelings, just the future.

People’s musical tastes will shift over time, but there are those few albums that just hold a special place in your heart for various reasons. While I thoroughly enjoyed John Nolan and Shaun Cooper’s other band (Straylight Run), Taking Back Sunday was just never the same for me sans Nolan’s lyrics and to this day, I still love the “Tell All Your Friends” album!

I know that as soon as tour dates are announced, I will be jumping at the chance to be 18 again!

You know one thing that’s great about this band? NOTHING! Never got the hype AT ALL! Have listened to at least 3 of their albums several times, not one memorable song.

If Straylight Run ends because of this I’m gonna be pissed.
