Coachella Artist Spotlight: White Rabbits

With a song title like Percussion Gun it makes sense that White Rabbits revolve heavily around their drummers.  That’s right, drummers with an ‘s’. You can watch their multiple drummers jam with some piano rock and sweet guitar melodies at Coachella.

The White Rabbits may call New York home now, but these boys are the pride and joy of Columbia, Missouri.

Vocalist and guitarist Greg Roberts met the multi-talented vocalist, pianist and percussionist Stephen Patterson while working together at a local record store.  Eventually moving to New York, the two joined up with guitarist Alex Even, bassist Adam Russell and drumming duo Matt Clark and Jamie Levinson.  With all the right pieces in place, the guys signed to Say Hey Records and released their debut album Fort Nightly in 2007.  The band went on to release It’s Frightening in spring of 2009 with the assistance of Spoon‘s Britt Daniel. It’s Frightening brought along with it the hit single Percussion Gun, which blew me away the first time I heard it and continues to do so today.  The guys’ energy really come through on the track.
