New Music: The Black Keys “Tighten Up”

The Black Keys are an amazing blues-rock band straight out of Ohio. This duo’s got more soul than your mother’s home cooking. If the name of the band doesn’t strike a chord with you, I’m sure their music has found its way into your ears. Some of your favorite artists including Radiohead and Beck have toured with them. If that doesn’t say enough for this band then maybe Pearl Jam touring with them this summer will convince you that they’re worth checkin’ out.

The Black Keys are perhaps one of the most culturally referenced bands out there, finding spots in phone commercials, film soundtracks (Black Snake Moan, School of Rock), video games (Grand Theft Auto 4), Victoria’s Secret spots, as well as some very popular television (Entourage, Dexter, Gossip Girl).

Singer/guitarist  Dan Aurbach is truly a gift, unleashing vocals which resonate as much soul and feel as a Jack White or a Caleb Followill.  We all have those days where we just wanna get everything out of our system, and a good blues song can help release whatever’s been dwelling inside.
