My pick of the week: Repo Men

“Set in the future where artificial organs are readily available. If you fall behind on payments of your artificial organs, the Repo Men come and take it back. They take it OUT of your body! It looks great – Jude Law and Forest Whitaker have great chemistry in this. It looks like a very entertaining, very interesting action film.”

Greenberg:

“A neurotic, 40ish man finds himself house-sitting for his brother… Zzzzzzzz… Once Ben Stiller enters into neurotic mode, I’m out. I like when he’s funny and goofy. Give me Zoolander or Dodgeball.”

The Runaways:

“This was a band that was put together by way-creepy-dude, Kim Fowley, who pretty much perused the clubs of the Sunset Strip, found some teenage girls, put ‘em together into a band thinking a little jailbait might sell some records, and he was right. Kristen Stewart is Joan Jett, and Dakota Fanning is Cherie Currie. The casting isn’t as crazy as you might think. I’m gonna check it out this weekend.”

Diary of a Wimpy Kid:

“7th grader, Greg, outlines the events and adventures of his everyday life in a diary that his mom forces him to keep. It was a very popular web comic. It’s for tweens, so they might enjoy it.”

The Bounty Hunter:

“Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston – He’s a bounty hunter, she’s his ex-wife, and he gets the assignment of having to bring her back into jail cause she’s jumped bail. These are 2 likable people, though when he does romantic comedies, something’s off with him. You gotta love her, so they’ve got a lot going for them.”
