If you’ve ever been curious about what a garage band from Paris might sound like, you need to invest some more time in Phoenix. Trust us.

Now for those of you who are still calling to hear “1901” and “Lisztomania,” have I got a treat for you! Phoenix and The Breakfast Club.

What the heck do the two have to do with one another?

Click more to find out.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock next to a pineapple under the sea, you KNOW about Phoenix. Despite a fan base whose loyalty has spanned nearly a decade, only recently has the band achieved big time success earning them a Grammy. The first single (“1909″) from their latest album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, has forever diverted attention away from the Arizona city to this Billboard chart-topping Parisian band, and rightfully so.

Some creative genius made this video featuring “Lisztomania” and a mash-up of some of the BEST clips from The Breakfast Club. If this movie is before your time and you have no idea what it is, that’s no excuse. It’s a cult classic and as a KROQ fan, you need to go watch it… now.

For those of you who have hipster friends who give you crap for not knowing about Phoenix before hearing them on KROQ or as a segue between MTV shows, don’t get too down on yourself. The upside is that you have so many unexplored Phoenix jewels to uncover! Not only does their website feature band news/lyrics/tour date/the usual stuff, there’s also a journal section devoted to some pretty impressive photography and exclusive video clips, all uploaded by the guys themselves.

With four studio albums and many singles, you have plenty of good music to uncover.

Check our their live performance at KROQ’s studio R.

Here’s one of my favorites. It’s called “Run Run Run.”

Check out the video below and add it to a playlist that you can drive to.

Oh, and don’t forget to check Phoenix out on day 3 of Coachella!
