Iggy Pop “Lust for Life” – Kat’s Box

Tonight Iggy Pop’s band The Stooges gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Stooges gave rock n roll a good kick in the ass with songs like “Search and Destroy” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog.”  They inspired many and are finally getting recognized for it tonight.  The award ceremony will air on Fuse TV.

Iggy Pop on his own wrote a ridiculous catalogue of great music including “China Girl” (co-written with Bowie) which originally appeared on The Idiot. When it appeared on Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” album five years later it officially became a hit.  “Lust for Life” is one of my favorite songs and I really don’t think Trainspotting would have been the same without it.  Renton, Sickboy and Spud running their asses off through the streets of Scotland while Iggy’s jam fuels the whole scene is simply great.

Please enjoy a bloody Iggy Pop performing  Lust for Life back in 1977 in Manchester.

Well, we all know I’m a little Scottish! Ha! Get it! Haha…Okay, serious note though, That’s what I’m talkin’ about Kat! The Stooges were the sickest of the old school genre of Punk Rock! I can’t wait until they announce their West Coast gig either this year or next. There’s a super sexy scene in The Runaways that has Stewart, Fanning, and Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley in a night club with “Gimme Danger” by The Stooges off their “Raw Power” album…Ugh! Just the sickest…Great selection beautiful lady! :P And thanks for the heads up on their induction! Had no idea it would be televised by Fuse. Knowledge is power!
