Last night I went to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Whigs from Athens, GA opened the show.  While I was watching them rock out I was reminded of all the great bands that have emerged from that city and of course REM has to be one of the most well known.

Also, on the list of great Athens, GA bands includes The B-52′s, Pylon, Vic Chestnutt and Neutral Milk Hotel just to name a few.  Today, I’ve chosen one of my favorite REM tracks South Central Rain.  Dig it.
