Aziz Ansari, one of the up and coming stars in comedy, will be featured at this year’s April Foolishness.

You might recognize him from his regular spot as Tom Haverford on Parks and Recreation. Or you may remember him from his work on the MTV sketch show Human Giant. Or how about his role as Randy in Funny People?

One thing’s for sure, this is one funny dude. And you better be ready for some more Ansari, because he recently signed on to help develop and collaborate on 3  major motion films.

Ansari has a relatively new career in the comedy and acting. He began by doing comedy shows in 2004 while attending NYU, and was impressive enough to earn a spot on Rolling Stone’s 2005 annual hot list for “Hot Standup.” He won a few comedy awards here and there, then toured for a while with Flight of the Conchords before headlining his own tour. Aside from comedy, Ansari also has shined in television and film.

Human Giant was the offspring of a few short comedy series, Shutterbugs and Illusionators, which were collaborations with Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, and director Jason Woliner. MTV then greenlit their project, Human Giant, which debuted in April 2007. The program lasted two full seasons, and would have continued, but the creators had other obligations so the show was taken off air.

Ansari’s TV career continued as he landed a few episodes on Scrubs, but was written off the show so he could pursue his new role on Parks and Recreation, where he landed the spot of Tom Haverford, a sarcastic, underachieving government official. Ansari is still a regular on the show.

Aziz has also been in a few movies you may have heard of: School for Scoundrels, The Rocker, Observe and Report, and I Love You, Man. You might also remember him as the “Raaaannnnddddyyyyy” guy from Funny People.

His role in Funny People was such a hit that Judd Apatow signed on him and Jason Woliner (who worked with Ansari on Human Giant) to develop and collaborate on 3 upcoming Apatow Production films.

Be on the lookout for these upcoming films. And make sure to check out Aziz Ansari April 3rd at Kevin & Bean’s April Foolishness.
