Abbey Road Studios For Sale?

The legendary Abbey Road Studios needs no introduction. It is most notably where The Beatles recorded most of, if not all, of their music in the 60′s, but a bunch of KROQ bands such as Green Day, The Killers, MGMT, Muse, Radiohead & Red Hot Chili Peppers have also made passes through to lay down tracks.
Recently there has been talk that the studio may be going up for sale. Find the truth by hitting more.
Thirty million Pounds (approximately$46.2 million U.S.) is what they say Abbey Road Studios is worth.
The reason it is going up for sale in the first place is due to parent company, EMI’s, massive debt. Although I’m not confident the $46 million sale of Abbey Road Studios would truly help against EMI’s $2 billion debt. There is a LOT of public outcry expressing their disagreement with the company putting such a landmark up for grabs.
The issue is, with the way the building would be put for sale, it could be made into ANYTHING (mainly apartments or shops), or even worse- it could be knocked down.
Personally, I really hope someone swoops in and saves the studio. I’d hate to see such a HUGE piece of musical history become a crappy flower shop or some ungrateful person’s apartment. Someone would be pooping in the room The Beatles used to record in! Unacceptable! Most recently Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom of the Opera) has expressed interest in preserving the studio. And by God, I hope he does.
Below are some videos from the series “Live From Abbey Road” of some of your favortie KROQ Bands. Keep your eyes on KROQ.com for more on this soon.
