Franz Ferdinand Teases New Album

Just like your first girlfriend used to dangle the prospect of rounding out home base on a Saturday night, so too has Franz Ferdinand’s front man Alex Kapranos started teasing his fans with word of a forthcoming album.
Click more to find out just exactly what he and the boys are up to.
A little over a year ago Franz Ferdinand delivered their third studio album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, to a welcoming audience. Both singles released from the album, “Ulysses” and “No You Girls” went on to climb both foreign and domestic charts while the album itself ended up in fifth place on Last.fm’s ‘Best Of 2009” list.
Lead singer Alex Kapranos recently broke the news of production on a fourth album being underway. Kapranos told BBC 6music that he and guitarist Nick McCarthy had “been writing some things and trying to do things in a different way again… “You’ll hear it before too long.”
He went on to say, “before the last record, I talked far too much about it as we had the ideas and I made a vow that I wasn’t going to say anything about what we are actually doing until we’ve done it, and then wait about another three weeks.”
So while Franz fans will definitely have something to look forward to, I wouldn’t exactly advise holding your breath on this one…(unless that’s what you’re into.)
For those of you who are fans of instant gratification, check out “The Eyes of Mars”. It’s slower tempo track written/performed by the band featuring vocals by Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard. (just a note: if you’re a fan of good music/hot French women who can sing, CHECK IT OUT… even if it was made for a fashion campaign.) You can hear it now by going to www.ladydior.com.
Or, check out video highlights from their in-studio performance with Kevin & Bean.
