New KROQ Music: Dan Black’s “Symphonies”

Maybe you’ve been hiding under a rock lately or just recovering from those naughty habits, but a new artist has been blowing up on KROQ the past few days. Presented before you is the crazy-talented Dan Black and his atmospheric single, “Symphonies”. Since you probably don’t know much about this friendly Brit, we’re here to help.
Dan Black is a British electronic artist, formerly a member of the alternative band The Servants. With influences ranging from Sigur Ros to Jay-Z (yeah, really Jay-Z), Dan is producing some of the most refreshing and out-of-this-world music we’ve heard in a while.
His latest CD UN hits stores Tuesday, February 16 and will be available for a tiny little $1.06 at all 57 Best Buy locations for one week only (2/16-2/22). Wanna test drive the CD? Preview it at Bestbuy.com.
Feeling inspired to see Mr. Black? He’s playing at Spaceland Wednesday, February 24th and tickets are only $1.06 each! Click here for all of the details.
Check out Dan’s video for Symphonies.

I heard the song earlier today and its pretty good. It sounds like he uses the beat from Rihanna’s “Umbrella”

Love Dan Black! I heard about him this summer and have waited for his stuff to come out over here in the US. “Un” is a fantastic album that everyone should listen to when they get the chance.
