Quick, Act Like You’re Upset! Fall Out Boy Disbands

Filed Under:

If you saw Fall Out Boy when they opened for Blink-182 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, you might have seen one of their last performances as a band. Through a series of tweets from pretty bass-playing frontman Pete Wentz and a Q&A with frontman-if-he-was-thin Patrick Stump, we’ve learned that Fall Out Boy is pretty much done.

I’m not in Fall Out Boy right now,” said Stump, “but [...] the band will always be around. Steven Tyler isn’t in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith.” This was all in response to tweets from Ashlee Simpson’s husband, who claimed that the band had grown apart. I'm not in Fall Out Boy right now.

In FOB’s absence, those craving the syrupy intonations of Mr. Patrick Stump can look forward to his solo project, as well as a track he collaborated on with Mark Hoppus (of Blink-182) for the Alice In Wonderland soundtrack.

So here’s to you, Fall Out Boy. As you leave the music scene behind, look back and know one thing: nobody believed you when you said you didn’t steal your name from The Simpsons. Nobody.

Hmmm, odd… I always thought they got their name from the character in the ‘Fallout’ series of video games.

Oh well… Another brick in the wall…

KROQ playing Fall Out Boy is almost as embarrassing as KROQ playing Guns and Roses, or Metallica.
Oh well. We all make mistakes. KROQ fixed the mistake of playing Fall Out Boy. Now let’s get them to stop playing old metal songs that do not belong on an Alt-Rock station!
