New KROQ Music: Who are The Dirty Heads?
You know that smooth reggae sounding song you’ve been hearing on KROQ lately? You know, the one that sounds like Jack Johnson joined Sublime? Well that my friends is a song called “Lay Me Down” by The Dirty Heads. And since you love it as much as we do, we figured we’d let you get to know them a little better.
The Dirty Heads are local boys straight out of Huntington Beach with music influences ranging from Bob Marley and Sublime to 311 and even the Beastie Boys. Their relaxed, So Cal vibe gives fans a genuine feel as lead singer Jared Watson even says, “We want to be positive and entertain. We just want to make you feel good”.
And that’s exactly what their music has been doing for KROQ listeners. Kat has been spinning both “Stand Tall” and “Check The Level” on Locals Only for months and with the recent addition of “Lay Me Down” to the KROQ playlist, The Dirty Heads have been creating quite the buzz. Plus, having new Sublime lead singer Rome help out on vocals doesn’t hurt.

Been following these boys since the beginning. It’s awesome to finally hear them on KROQ. Their live shows are amazing!! CD is great too. Big ups to KROQ for giving them some play.

LOVE THE DH’s! Have been a fan forever and it’s great to see them finally get the recognition and the radio play that they deserve! Thanks KROQ! I heard that Lay Me Down will be available for download in the next couple of weeks but check out their CD Any Port in a Storm – it ROCKS!

You guy’s havent heard anything yet..
I’ve seen guys perform localy a few times in Huntington Beach and its surrounding city’s. I still have and play the demo cd they gave me in my ride. I’m just waiting to hear songs like “Dirty Head” “Gimmie the mic.” or “Rub-a-dub Syle” on the radio….
ps. Couple of other locals that are simmular but diffrent in there own way “The Bfoundation & HB Surround Sound” are worth looking up too…… Congrats Dirty Heads keep up the good work!!
