Was there a worse year in rock music than 2001? Yuck! Outside of the Gorillaz, Weezer’s green album and one or two others, this whole list is Fred Durst bad. I miss the 90s, but at least things got better later in the decade.

The year that Linkin Park shook the world of music to it’s core and killed Fred Durst’s dreams of world domination. Those top 2 tracks are mind blowing. Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” was their “Nevermind”. The most memorable year or the 00′s.

the first year linkin park charted in both the us charts and modern rock charts
they absolutely deserve # 1 for IN THE END
in the year 2001 i was listening to britney spears and the pet shop boys and this song by linkin park brought me to modern rock THANK YOU
but i miss depeche mode in the list as they had at least 2 good songs on EXCITER
dream on was a radio hit in the usa but unfortunately depeche modes freelove became one of the most underrated songs of thei r career
